Liverpool striker latest! Reds target move for Argentina star

The transfer rumour mill is continuing to generate new potential signings for Liverpool, as Brendan Rodgers sets his sights on more attacking options before the summer window shuts.
The Reds spent big before and since Luis Suarez’s £75million sale to Barcelona, attracting the likes of Serbian starlet Lazar Markovic and teenage forward Divock Origi, but the boss isn’t satisfied and is eyeing another striker to replace the departed Uruguayan.
Fans have been underwhelmed by vague links with Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez, while a promising deal for proven Premier League goalscorer Loic Remy fell through this week, reportedly due to concerns over his medical.
The club have refused to comment on Remy’s failed move, though Rodgers did admit he has switched he attention to ‘other targets’.
The Reds boss said: “It’s very simple, we have made a decision as a club not to go ahead with the deal. It’s unfortunate for the player. We are disappointed for the player but there’s nothing more to be said and we will move on and look at other targets.”
